At the start of Arrow Season 5, Diggle has left Star City to rejoin the Special Forces in Chechnya. With his longtime confidant gone, a group of recruits to train and finding himself in a vulnerable position as Mayor, Oliver must find a worthy replacement. Who better to be Oliver’s new bodyguard than Human Target, a master of deception and expert martial artist?
Jessica Jones ’ Wil Traval will portray Christopher Chance, whose skillset allows him to assume the identity of his clients to protect them. Human Target sounds like just the man who can protect Oliver’s secret identity as the Green Arrow, especially now that he’s in a position of political power. Human Target will first appear in episode 5.

“Wil Traval plays well-renowned DC Comics character Christopher Chance, a.k.a. ‘Human Target’...a professional bodyguard and master of disguise who assumes the identities of those targeted by assassins. His latest client: Mayor Oliver Queen,” Warner Bros. writes in a casting notice according to ComicBook.com.
Human Target has been featured in two titular TV shows over the last two decades, both loosely based on the comic book version of the character. The first, which wasn’t so well received by fans, aired in 1992 on ABC and lasted just one season. The second series lasted two seasons on Fox. Season 1 received positive reviews, but the show was cancelled because of declining viewership.
Arrow Season 5 premieres on Oct. 4 at 8 p.m.
