Rumors are spreading that Ubisoft is partnering with Saudi-based Savvy Games Group to bring a new story DLC to "Assassin's Creed Mirage."

The game was originally released in 2023 and immediately garnered positive reviews from fans of the franchise and beyond. A lot of players considered it as a return to form for the series that brought it back to its roots.

Assassin's Creed Mirage Story DLC

However, despite the success of "Assassin's Creed Mirage," Ubisoft never actually put out a story DLC for the game. This seems to have changed recently as the studio has reportedly contacted Savvy Games Group to create the new story content.

It was noted that Ubisoft CEO Yver Guillemot formalized the deal during his recent trip to Saudi Arabia. Savvy Games Group is known as an international investment and development firm that focuses on the growing Middle Eastern esports scene.

The company reportedly holds sizable stakes in many high-profile video game companies around the world. Savvy Games Group's portfolio includes companies like Nintendo, Electronic Arts, Take-Two Interactive, and Capcom, according to CBR.

The rumors come as Ubisoft is currently working diligently to make sure that the latest entry in the franchise, "Assassin's Creed Shadows," is a success. This is as the company has been having financial struggles with recent commercial flops and game shutdowns.

They also suggest that the studio is taking a multi-pronged approach to its recent dilemma, as it has also revealed more details about the Claws of Awaji DLC for the latest entry. This would allegedly add more than 10 hours of content to the base game.

Ubisoft's Attempts To Recover

The rumors for the first-ever story DLC for "Assassin's Creed Mirage" caught fans of the franchise off-guard. This is primarily because the latest entry in the series is set to come out on Mar. 20, 2025, which is less than two months away, WCCFTech said.

It was previously claimed that "Assassin's Creed Mirage" itself was designed to be a DLC itself and was supposed to continue the storyline from "Assassin's Creed Valhalla." However, it eventually came out as an individual installment in the franchise.

So far, it is unclear how big of a project the "Assassin's Creed Mirage" story DLC is or when it is planned for release. What it does show is that Saudi Arabia is continuously increasing its involvement in the video game industry.

The country's Public Investment Fund (PIF) currently has an 8.58% stake in Nintendo and Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan Al-Saud recently talked about their plans. He said that there "are always opportunities," according to The Gamer.
