The Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice Joker flashback scene might not be a rumor afterall. Comic Book Movie recently published an alleged magazine scan from an unnamed French publication. The scan featured bios of the actors and names of the characters they are portraying in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman movie as well.
At the bottom of Ezra Miller’s (The Flash) bio there was a brief mention of a “Joker flashback.” Warner Bros Studios has yet to comment on the authenticity of the magazine scans, but seeing the Joker in Batman vs. Superman isn’t a big stretch. We know Ben Affleck’s Batman is a more weathered superhero whose experiences have left him a bit more cynical about the world. We also saw a defaced Robin costume in the Batcave, which might come up in the film and play into the Batman-Joker dynamic.
However the Joker comes into play, we know fans will see a different Bruce Wayne than previous adaptations of the character. Batman vs. Superman movie producer Charles Roven recently told Empire that Batman isn’t letting the bad guys get away with anything. Batman will do whatever it takes to keep the people of Gotham safe.
“[Batman] is not giving people a chance,” Roven told Empire. “He is more than a vigilante. He has become not only the cop, if you will, he has also become the jury and executioner.”
It will be interesting to see which ideals Batman hold on to in the film and how far he goes to take down Superman. Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice starring Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman hits theaters on March 25.
