The latest Battlefield 1 trailer is here, showing off all sorts of weapons coming to the World War 1 shooter when the game is released on Oct. 21. Check it out for yourself above.
One of the big differences in Battlefield 1 over other contemporary shooters is the technology is much older and more crude. This means gamers aren’t going to see the same AK-47 and Glocks again.
“We have been allowed to open up another world,” said Lars Gustavsson, the creative director at DICE, in the video. “It’s not another M16 that we’re about to build.”
As the developers mentioned in the video, World War 1 was a big turning point in war technology. Many weapons we have today either were created during the war, or the early versions were beginning to take shape.
On the other hand, World War 1 was also surprisingly primitive. Fighting in the trenches was done with many different hand-to-hand weapons, while horses were not uncommon to see being used as transportation.
Battlefield 1 comes to PS4, Xbox One and PC on Oct. 21. Those with EA Access will get to start playing early, as with all other EA games.
So what do you think? Are there any weapons in the video you are excited to try out for yourself? Are you curious to see what combat during World War 1 will look like in a modern video game? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
