We’ve known that there will be a big Battlefield announcement coming tomorrow, but now EA and DICE have posted a nine-second long trailer to tease the event on Twitter.
The trailer doesn’t really show anything, except a man’s face looking upwards in shock. It seems like he is looking up at something approaching him, most likely some kind of airplane. The video claims it was made using game engine footage, which is impressive.
While there’s really nothing we can dig into in this video, we can see the collar on the man’s outfit. While this is pretty much just a guess, it looks like the outfit is made of some kind of cloth. This is exciting, since futuristic shooters typically have characters outfitted in some sort of high-tech metal armor. Seeing clothing gives me hope that the next Battlefield will be set either in the present or the past.
Other clues hinting towards a past setting come from places like Swiss retailer World of Games. An early listing for Battlefield 5 on their site mentioned the game would be a multiplayer shooter set during World War I.
To know for sure what the next Battlefield will be like, it seems we should all tune in to the livestream tomorrow at 4 p.m. EST.
So what do you think? Does this small teaser trailer get you hyped for the future of Battlefield? What do you want the next game to be like? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
