We finally have a launch window for Birthdays the Beginning , the new sandbox game from Harvest Moon creator Yasuhiro Wada, but anyone hoping to experience ToyBox Inc’s unique take on the genre is going to be disappointed. Turns out, Birthdays the Beginning won’t be ready for Western audiences (or anyone for that matter) until well into the new year.
According to NIS America, Birthdays the Beginning will make its North American debut next March, approximately six weeks after the game’s Japanese debut. The Western localization will include English, French, Italian, German and Spanish translations. Fans also got a closer look at the game, courtesy of a Birthdays the Beginning stream hosted by Wada, and the publisher promised additional game-related announcements throughout the week.
As if all that weren’t enough, Wada also stopped by reddit for a brief Q&A on Monday afternoon. The developer answered questions in both English and Japanese, discussing everything from The Bachelorette to whether or not fans could expect to see any signs of Harvest Moon in Birthdays the Beginning . Wada also discussed his thought process, when designing a new game, and even briefly mentions a recent meeting with Stardew Valley creator Eric Barone.
For an extended look at Birthdays the Beginning , including commentary from those responsible for the game’s creation, set aside the time to watch the hour-long broadcast that originally aired on Monday afternoon. Then head down to the comments section and let us know if you’re planning to pick up Birthdays the Beginning when the game debuts next March.
Birthdays the Beginning is development for PS4 and PC. The game debuts March 7, 2017.
