A new Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Multiplayer Starter Pack is now available on Steam, aka the meat and potatoes of Black Ops 3 gaming. For $15, the Multiplayer Starter Pack solely delivers an online multiplayer experience that will only be available for purchase from Feb. 16 to 29.
For a measely sum that is a fraction of the cost of the full game, the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Multiplayer Starter Pack grants you public ranked multiplayer matches, the Weapon Paint Shop, Gunsmith customization system, Black Market trading post, as well as Arena, Free Run, and Theater modes.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Multiplayer Starter Pack does away with the main campaign. Unfortunately, the popular Zombies mode is removed as well. What's more, players will not be able to prestige as the level will be capped at 55. Custom multiplayer matches are also off limits. Finally, the Steam description also noted that the Multiplayer Starter Pack will not provide access to mod tools, modded content, or access to unranked server browsers.
But what if you find yourself enjoying the Starter Pack and want to experience everything else? Well, the complete version of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 could be yours if you select a $45 "upgrade option." A premium Digital Deluxe version is also available as an $85 upgrade. The Deluxe also features the add-on content from the game's Season Pass.
Should you require incentive to pick up the full version, the anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Awakening DLC for PC is set to arrive in March following an early PlayStation 4 release on Feb. 2. According to the Xbox Store, the DLC will arrive on the Xbox One console on March 3, but Activision has not announced the PC release date for the Awakening DLC at this point.
