For many fans of Call of Duty since day one, the first Modern Warfare title represents a high-water mark for the franchise. Not only was the title a major departure from its WWII origins, but the amount of effort put in to create amazing characters (was there ever a soldier named ‘Soap’ that was more badass?) and an immersive environment arguably made Modern Warfare the standard that shooters are measured against, even to this day. And that’s probably why veteran CoD developers Infinity Ward decided it’s time to bring the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to the current generation gaming consoles.
So what exactly can almost 10 years do for the iconic Call of Duty game? It does magic. Obviously, today’s processors enable crisper graphics and vibrant dynamic lighting. However, according to Dualshockers , the team worked to revamp the audio as well, including new sound effects for footsteps and environmental noises like wind and rustling foliage.
