Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will have a significant presence at Call of Duty XP, Activision and Infinity Ward confirmed this week, with a planned multiplayer reveal apparently filling the void we expected the final Black Ops 3 DLC to inhabit before last week’s big reveal.
Just in case you forgot, or have been living under a rock for the last few months, Activision confirmed it would publish Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered back in May. Unlike most of the HD remasters we see these days, Activision and Infinity Ward aren’t hoping to squeeze another $60 out of anyone interested in revisiting Modern Warfare. Instead, the rebuilt shooter is being offered as a free gift to anyone who purchases the “Deluxe” or “Legacy" versions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, the third (and presumably final) addition to the Modern Warfare trilogy.
Up to this point, we’ve only seen a bit of campaign content from the remaster, courtesy of a recent addition to the official Call of Duty YouTube channel; however, that will apparently change in a matter of days. According to Activision, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered multiplayer reveal will take center stage at Call of Duty XP, giving those in attendance a chance to see some multiplayer action before it’s shown to fans around the globe.
In the interim, anyone interested in watching gameplay footage from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is encouraged to revisit the gameplay demo published earlier this summer. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The upcoming remaster will debut alongside Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare on Nov. 4.
