On Oct. 19, 2K Games and Firaxis Games will host a Civilization VI AI Battle Royale live stream on Twitch. The Civ 6 live stream will feature commentary from the developers as they observe the civs duking it out with all the random ruthlessness only the Civilization AI can provide.

Based on my experience, I’m placing my bets on Japan, which has been at or near the top world rankings for dominance, religion or culture in every game I’ve played so far. But quite a few of the Civs on that list are not part of the press build, which will make the AI Battle Royale really fun to watch.
The Aztecs’ intriguing mix of luxury and conquest might just provide the edge they need to beat out Japan’s military-religious strengths. Or maybe Brazil’s flexibility will let it sneak up on the more focused leaders, like Gorgo of Greece. Maybe the AI can wrangle Spain’s religious bonuses better than I can.
