Clash Royale is due to receive one of its biggest and most surprising updates of the year on Tuesday, December 12, 2017. Ahead of the release, however, Supercell has been slowly revealing what players can expect, including new cards, arenas, chests, balance changes and much wanted support for iPhone X, Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ and Note8 as well. Below we’ve put together a complete overview of everything you can expect to see in the Clash Royale December 12 update when it releases. It’s sure to have a little something for every die-hard Clash Royale fan.
Clash Royale December 2017 Update Sneak Peek #1: New Cards
With their new development system in place, Supercell has eradicated the ability for tech-savvy players to find and leak information about new cards and update features coming to the game. That’s why this month’s two new cards came as a delightfully unexpected surprise.
So what are the new cards? Check them out below:
Zappies (Rare) - Spawns a pack of miniature zap machines
Hunter (Epic) - deals big damage up close with his musket balls, but not so great as a ranged player. Expected to be an Air and Ground troop.
No details have been given yet about the cost of these cards, nor about their damage, health points or at which arena they unlock. As more information is revealed, we’ll be sure to update this post.
Clash Royale December 2017 Update Sneak Peek #2: New Electro Valley Arena
We’ve come a long way since the seven arenas that were available when Clash Royale first released. With the release of the newest Electro Valley arena on Tuesday, the game will now feature 12 regular tier arenas, along with the nine top-tier arenas for Challengers, Masters and Champions. The Electro Valley arena positions itself as Arena 11, squeezed between Hog Mountain and the Legendary Arena. To qualify for Electro Valley players must reach 3400 trophies. With the Legendary Arena now qualifying as arena 12, players who make it to that arena will also see an increase in chest and victory gold awards there. The addition of this new arena not only serves as a reward for those stuck between the great divide of Hog Mountain and the Legendary arena, it may also allow players to acquire some new cards they haven’t been able to unlock.
Clash Royale December 2017 Update Sneak Peek #3: New Chests And Rewards
One major way Supercell has been revamping the game this year is through changes to the kinds of chests players can earn and the rewards within them. In the new December update, Supercell is shaking things up again, adding three more exciting new chests to quests and the shop. They are as follows:
Lightning Chest: Replaces card stacks of your choice with up to 5 "Strikes"
Fortune Chest: Give you a glimpse of the future so you can see what your chest might contain.
King's Chest / Legendary King's Chest : Big chests with a focus on Epic and Legendary Cards.
In addition to the new chests, the update will add these improved rewards as well:
The "Daily Gifts" Quest is now always active
Epic and Legendary Cards now appear in the Shop more often at 4000+ Trophies
Cards at max level are less likely to appear in the Shop and Fortune Chest
