C'Thun Druid Is the Breakout Deck Of 'Hearthstone: Whispers Of The Old Gods'

With Whispers of The Old Gods finally out, players are coming up with all sorts of unique Hearthstone deck ideas. The meta is still forming, with players trying out as many deck ideas as they can think up. My personal favorite deck to emerge from this expansion has to be the C’thun Druid. C’thun is one of the four Old God cards released in this set, and players are trying to find out which class he fits in the best. I’ve seen Warrior, Mage and Warlock and they all work fairly well.

The reason I like C’thun Druid the best is because of the amazingly powerful class-specific cards that came out of Whispers of The Old Gods . When Blizzard announced the Basic set card nerfs, Druid cards seemed to be targeted more than others. Players were worried that without Force of Nature, Druid might fall into obscurity. Thankfully, Blizzard gave them plenty of tools to stay viable in this meta.

Feral Rage gives your hero four attack or eight armor and is a must-include for any Druid deck wanting to be competitive. Combine this with a Savage Combatant and you get seven damage just with your hero. In C’thun Druid the card is used for board removal, since other than Swipe and Wrath , Druid has very little ability to clear.

C’thun Druid revolves around buffing the Old God until he has at least 10 attack. Cards like Twilight Elder and Dark Arakkoa buff C’thun and are also useful minions. A 5/7 taunt for six mana is nothing to scoff at. If you find yourself struggling to survive, drop a Twin Emperor Vek’lor and laugh as your opponent struggles to clear two 4/6 taunt minions on turn seven. Dr. Boom who?

What really sets this Druid deck apart from the others is Klaxxi Amber-Weaver . Its stupid name aside, the card is amazing. If C’thun has 10 attack, the bug gains five health. Four mana for a 4/10 may be the best deal in the game, and it’s remarkably easy to do. As long as you get even get close to curving out correctly, you are guaranteed a really good minion.

Here’s the C’thun Druid deck I’ve been playing with , though I removed two Crazed Worshippers for two Savage Combatants.
