Less than a month after its release, publisher and developer Marvelous First Studio has unveiled a roadmap for its third-person action shooter game Daemon X Machina. The roadmap details a list of planned updates, both major and minor, from October to December.
The first update from the roadmap will be made available on October 10. It indicates an additional battle-dedicated mode with special rules for 1 versus 1 or 2 versus 2 matches. A ranking (bounty) system will also be implemented.
The next update is set to come in early November. This update will mostly just inform players that a number of collaborations with popular mech related content will be arriving by that date. No information has been made available yet as to what brands or franchises Daemon X Machina will be collaborating with.
The game’s first major update will come in late November. A co-op play-dedicated order will be added to the game, as well as new bosses, weapons, and armor.
The last checkpoint in the roadmap is for December, which is also a planned major update. A co-op play dedicated order with new rules, as well as new weapons and armor should be expected. Also, it isindicated that there may be other stuff coming our way labeled as Under Consideration, so I’m assuming that Marvelous First Studio will monitor reception for these upcoming updates first before confirming if they are releasing more content.
Daemon X Machina follows the story of a mech pilot fighting against sentient AIs to save the human race from extinction. Released on September 13, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch, the game has since achieved commercial success despite lukewarm reviews. Daemon X Machina currently holds a 70 rating on Metacritic, signaling Mixed or Average reviews. While praise was pointed towards its exciting, action-packed gameplay, criticism was mostly attributed towards its repetitive mechanics and dragging storyline. The upcoming slew of updates, such as the addition of new weapons and armor, and the introduction of PvP, should hopefully improve on Daemon X Machina's weak points.
The game currently retails for $59.99 on the Nintendo eShop.
