It looks like PlayStation 4 owners will still get their fill of Frank West this holiday season, despite the fact Dead Rising 4 will be an Xbox exclusive at launch, following the discovery of a new trophy list for an unannounced PS4 port of the original Dead Rising.
The trophy list was discovered by Exophase, a site with an established track record on these sorts of leaks, and looks to be similar to the achievement list from the 2006 release. All of the usual milestones are there, from Zombie Killer (“Defeat at least 10,000 zombies”) to Psycho Collector (“Photograph at least 10 psychopaths”). And trophy hunters will be happy to hear the PS4 port of Dead Rising includes a platinum reward for anyone who earns the rest of the game’s trophies. It’s probably going to take you a little while to earn them all, though, especially trophies like Zombie Genocider (“Defeat at least 53,594 zombies”) and Saint (“Get at least 50 survivors out of the mall”).
Of course, while the leaked trophy list all but guarantees we’ll see Dead Rising make the jump to PSN at some point, it’s not clear when we can expect to hear anything official from Capcom. The trophy list leaves little doubt about the existence of a port and Dead Rising 4’s timed exclusivity gives PS4 owners plenty of time to revisit the franchise’s origin story. But many fans (including your truly) would still love a timeline for the port, if only to better adjust for 2016’s never-ending attack on our bank account.
We’ve reached out to Capcom, hoping to get more information on the rumored PS4 port of Dead Rising, and will update this post if/when we hear anything back from the publisher.
