A new Destiny: Rise Of Iron trailer is out this week, spotlighting some of the items players can receive during this year’s Festival of the Lost event. But the timing of the video couldn’t be worse, despite the fleeting nature of the festival, given the Destiny community’s growing outrage over the increasingly heavy presence of microtransactions in Bungie’s shared-world shooter.

Details on this year’s Halloween event have been available for weeks, following their publication on Bungie.net, but this marks the first time some fans are getting to actually see the new Festival of the Lost content. As promised, the event includes all sorts of new cosmetic items, from emotes and paper masks to new Sparrow skins and weapon ornaments, but acquiring many of the best-looking items from this year’s Halloween festival means having to spend some cash in the Eververse store. And some Destiny players aren’t happy about it.

Most of the posts on the front page of the Destiny sub-reddit are dedicated to the subject. One of the most popular threads, with more than 700 comments in less than 24 hours, demands answers from Bungie about how the studio uses revenue from the microtransactions. Previously, developers claimed the money raised from the Eververse store would be used to fund new content and other in-game events. But few in the Destiny community feel like Bungie is holding up its end of the bargain. Another suggests players stop spending money in-game to protest the rising prevalence of microtransactions.

For a closer look at some of the items players can receive during this year’s Festival of the Lost, take a few minutes to check out the new Treasures of the Lost trailer from Bungie and Activision. Then head down to the comments section and let us know what you think of the uproar around microtransactions in the Destiny community.

Destiny: Rise Of Iron is now available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
