New details on Bungie’s post-launch plans for Destiny: Rise of Iron are out this week, during the final countdown to the expansion’s Sept. 20 debut, but the latest word from Bungie will probably be disappointing to anyone planning to buy the PS4 Pro in November. That’s because the studio isn’t ready to commit to supporting the upcoming refresh of Sony’s latest console at launch. And Bungie isn’t sure if Destiny will ever take advantage of the upgraded hardware.

Many developers have yet to publicly comment on the PlayStation 4 Pro, the upgraded console announced by Sony Interactive Entertainment last week, but a new GameSpot report suggests one of the most popular studios on the planet isn’t sold on the new tech yet. According to Destiny executive producer Scott Taylor, Bungie is “looking at” the next round of PlayStation hardware headed to market but the producer replied with a very simple “No” when asked whether or not Destiny: Rise of Iron will get PS4 Pro support in November.

That said, it’s important to remember several other high-profile Activision releases will support the new console, including Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, so it’s always possible the publisher could pull rank and force the studio’s hand. It would be surprising to see the publisher request PS4 Pro support for Black Ops 3, which will be a year old when the PS4 Pro drops, but accept less support for one of the most popular shooters of the generation. But you might want to hold off on a PS4 Pro if you’re under the assumption it will eventually make Destiny look better.

Elsewhere, a new patch for Destiny, published on Tuesday afternoon, delivered the private Crucible matchmaking promised earlier this summer. Players can now set up custom Crucible matches with their friends, using any of the multiplayer maps currently featured in the game, and Bungie even went through the extra trouble hiding Ghosts around the current crops of battlefields to give the community a little extra incentive to try the new feature.
