New details on Destiny: Rise of Iron were published this week, alongside a detailed breakdown of the changes introduced in the game’s latest patch, giving Destiny fans around the globe more information to plan for the debut of the game’s fourth expansion. And it sounds like the Rise of Iron release date will be just as transformative for the shared-world shooter as last year’s launch of Destiny: The Taken King. Maybe even more so.

We’re getting awfully close to the debut of Destiny: Rise of Iron, along with a compilation of all the Destiny content currently available to the community, and that means it’s time for Bungie to start explaining some of the backend changes coming with the game’s next expansion. The studio will also use the next round of Destiny DLC to rebalance the game’s growing selection of firearms, just as it did with The Taken King last year, and Sandbox Designer Greg Peng wrote a blog post explaining all of the upcoming changes. They won’t all be popular, especially if your favorite exotic got a big nerf this year, but those interested in specifics can check out Peng’s full post for details on how Bungie will modify existing weapons and weapon classes.

Bungie also published lengthy patch notes for Destiny 2.4.0, the build that paves the way for all the incoming Rise of Iron content, which reveal a wide variety of tweaks and changes for the popular loot shooter. Everything is changing in the upcoming expansion, from weapon perks to public event rewards, and anyone still playing Destiny on a regular basis will want to spend a few minutes reviewing the changes coming in Update 2.4.0. Bungie even modified the game’s invisible walls to prevent Destiny players from accessing areas of the map that weren’t meant to be reached by the community.

Destiny: Rise of Iron is in development for PS4 and Xbox One. The fourth Destiny expansion debuts Sept. 20.
