Developer of story-driven, choice-based, adventure games, Quantic Dream, has just announced that they will soon be releasing the PC versions of Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human via Steam next month. This news comes after their initial Epic Games Store releases last year.
First is Beyond: Two Souls, which stars Hollywood heavyweights Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe. Players take control of Jodie, a troubled young girl with a connection to Aiden, a mysterious entity that has telekinetic and telepathic powers. When an incident results with neighborhood kids almost being killed, Jodie’s foster parents decides to seek help, which ultimately puts Jodie under the watchful eye of the United States Department of Paranormal Activity.
Perhaps the heaviest of the three titles (pun intended) is Heavy Rain, a tense psychological thriller that puts the player in control of multiple characters: Ethan, a single father with a tragic past, Madison, an insomniac journalist, Norman, an FBI profiler with a crippling addiction, and Scott, a private investigator. All of their lives are inevitably intertwined when different circumstances lead them to hunt down a murderer only known as the Origami Killer.
Lastly, Detroit: Become Human tells the story of the Motor City in the near future: the birthplace of artificial intelligence and androids. Players will take control of Markus, Kara, and Connor: three androids discovering what it means to be human in the midst of an inevitable world war and a society that is still learning whether to accept or shun them.
Quantic Dream is a French video game developer most known for their interactive titles focused on intense storytelling and plots that are moved forward by the player's decisions. The studio was originally developing games exclusively for Sony Interactive Entertainment. However, this ended in January of 2019, which eventually resulted in these games being released for the PC. A potential Xbox release is still unknown.
Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human will be available on Steam come June 18. Demos for all three games are also currently available in their respective Steam pages.
