Codemasters has just unveiled the variety of car classes that will be appearing in their upcoming racing and driving simulation title, DiRT 5. The list consists of 12 classes, with both new and old fan favorites that players should watch out for.
The list starts off with Cross Raid, described as “packing strength to conquer tough terrain,” which includes the Volkswagen Race Touareg 3 and the Lafitte G-Tec X-Road's video game debut.
With huge wheels, mad suspension, and a big roll cage, the Rock Bouncer is an added car class that is made to beat all obstacles with its superior traction and acceleration.
Next is Rally Cross, which are the classics for rally racing that include the likes of the Peugeot 208 WRX and Citroen C3 R5, with its greatest strengths being its exceptional acceleration and handling.
For Stampede Events, players should look to the Formula Off Road car class with their huge tires and impeccable power.
Classic Rally includes the jack-of-all-trades that popularized the sport with rides like the Fiat 131 Abarth Rally and the Porsche 924 GTS Rallye. As for the 80’s Rally, crowd favorites such as the Ford RS 200 will be making an appearance.
The second half of the 12 car classes are kicked off by the 90’s Rally class, with its iconic rivalries during the mainstream rise of off-road racing such as the Subaru Impreza S4 and Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI.
The Rally GT class are desirable cars, fully spec’ed-out for off road racing such as the Aston Martin V8 Vantage GT-4 and the Porsche 911 R-GT.
The Sprint class is perfect for zooming “through dirt oval tracks sideways while sporting wheels of all different sizes, huge wings and 900bhp.”
Pre-runners are comprised of SUV’s that are made for racing and off-roading such as the Aston Martin DBX.
Super Lites, on the other hand, are for all terrain challenges and includes vehicles such as the Ariel Nomad Tactical and Exomotive Exocet Off-Road.
