Looks like it's another day, another glitch for The Division. Despite adding some patches to its recent 1.1 Falcon Lost Incursion update, players have been exploiting The Division gameplay left and right. In fact, it's safe to assume this is just the tip of the iceberg and we expect to share a steady flow of The Division guides. This latest trending glitch is a real gem: how does game-breaking weapon damage sound? Seriously, we're talking over-1,000,000 DPS here!
Here's how it's done: the trick involves owning a high-end gun outfitted with a "Competent" talent. If you don't have a weapon with this talent, there's a high-end AK47 conveniently located at the special gear vendor in the Base of Operations for you to purchase with your Phoenix Credits. Once acquired, simply equip the Competent gun, then equip a different weapon, then switch back to the Competent gun again. Keep repeating this repetitive process and watch a bug cause the DPS of the Competent weapon increase.
The "Competent" talent isn't supposed to work that way. Instead, the Competent talent is designed to give a weapon a temporary DPS boost. Now, players that are mashing the glitch can spike the damage of their guns to incredible levels, effectively killing any enemy in the Dark Zone with just a single shot.
Although we're sharing details on how the latest The Division glitch is done, please use the information at your own discretion. Ubisoft intends to fine cheaters with some heavy penalties including a 3-day ban for the first offense and a permaban for the second. Secondly, if we're reporting it, best believe that Ubisoft is aware of it. Don't be surprised if Ubisoft is readying another The Division patch in the weeks ahead.
