The hype is real for FX’s upcoming TV show, Atlanta , starring Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino). Ahead of the Atlanta premiere Sept. 6, the network released 6 new teasers for the 30-minute comedy series about a young college dropout named Earnest "Earn" Marks (Glover), who’s trying to jumpstart his cousin’s rap career in ATL.

Atlanta revolves around two cousins on their way up through the Atlanta rap scene whose opposing views on art versus commerce, success and race will make their quest anything but easy,” FX writes in a press release.

Brian Tyree Henry plays Alfred “Paper Boi” Miles, an up-and-coming rap star who’s stuck between the street and real world. LaKeith Stanfield is Darius, Alfred’s #2. Zazie Beetz plays Van, Earn’s baby mama.

"The thesis with the show was to show people how it felt to be black," Glover said at the Television Critics Association summer tour. “Everybody there is like ‘Yo, I got a verse.’ Everybody is trying to make something from nothing. I believe everybody has a situation, and I wanted to show real people in real situations.”

The first of 10 episodes, “The Big Bang,” airs Tuesday, Sept. 6.
