Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is the second title in the Final Fantasy VII remake project. It retells the story of this iconic fantasy game which redefined the RPG genre. The story picks up with heroes Cloud, Barret, Tifa, Aerith and Red XIII just having escaped the dystopian city of Midgar. The group goes on a journey pursuing Sephiroth, a vengeful swordsman who's part of Cloud's past and was thought to be dead.
For this standalone adventure, players get to explore an expansive world brought to life through a new level of graphical fidelity and created to leverage the power of PS5. As they learn more about the narrative rich with mysteries, they also get to see the personal journey of each party member. They will also see the party members strengthen their bonds and work together to fight against powerful enemies.
In a statement, Producer Yoshinori Kitase shared that they're honored to bring this new game to players worldwide. He added that everyone can enjoy the story, even those who aren't familiar with the game or the original Final Fantasy VII. He went on to say that the whole team is working to make sure that the game offers an unforgettable experience not only for new adventurers but even for longtime fans. Kitase ended by saying that he can't wait to reveal more details later this year.
