In Legends Of Tomorrow Season 2 episode 3, “Shogun,” Jax and Professor Stein learned of a message The Flash sent Rip Hunter from the year 2056. The message said: “Sorry to contact you like this Captain Hunter, but I can't risk putting any more lives in danger, and neither can this, which is why you'll keep what I'm about to tell you a secret, even from the rest of your team.”
Of course, that is only the beginning of the message. Since Barry told whoever listened to keep it a secret, Firestorm hasn’t told the rest of the Legends. But according to Victor Garber, who plays Professor Stein, we’ll find out the rest of Barry’s warning sometime during the four-night Invasion! crossover next week.
“It sort of comes out in dribs and drabs. It’s a big mystery and a big deal. It’s a spoiler if I give you too much information, but it’s just part of the whole mystery of time travel and the fact that this is coming from Barry years later and then when he finds out — and that all happens in the crossover, so it just sort of unfolds as these things do on these shows, and lots of things occur in that time period, Garber told CBR.
Jax and Professor Stein discovered the message while searching through Rip Hunter’s secret weapons bunker after he disappeared in 1942. Whatever Barry told Rip, it could have been part of the reason the Waverider Captain is now gone without a trace.
It also seems like we’ll learn the contents of the message at the same time Barry does, who isn’t aware of his future warning to the Legends, according to CBR. It’s also unclear at this point if the threat Barry spoke about is related to The Dominators, Flashpoint, or something else entirely.
