The Flash Season 3 will see the return of the Black Flash, Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg confirmed at the Television Critics Association Winter Press tour. Furthermore, Black Flash won’t be confined to Central City and the speed force. He’s going to make an appearance on Arrow, Supergirl or Legends of Tomorrow as well.

“I will say that you might be seeing him on multiple shows,” Kreisberg teased, according to The Wrap.

“He’s a classic character. We have storylines on multiple shows that fit having him around. There’s something so scary about him, something even scarier than when he was just the man, because now it’s now he is the Grim Reaper, he is the devil. How do you stop the devil? So it presents an interesting challenge for the heroes of the respective shows in which he appears.”

It’s a safe bet Black Flash would fit best on Legends of Tomorrow after The Flash. Not only because of the time-travel, multiverse aspects of Legends , but because Reverse-Flash is running shit with his new villain group Legion of Doom. He’s messed up the timeline just as much as Barry has over the course of the series, and Black Flash could be coming for him. Supergirl would be the least likely to be affected by Black Flash, but we could see her come to the Arrowverse to help defeat him. Arrow could be a stretch, but now that Ollie and Barry are bros, he’s only a phone call away.

As Kreisberg said, there are tons of ways Black Flash could return. In the comics, Reverse-Flash, Zoom and Barry all became Black Flash at one time or another. In fact, that’s how Barry ultimately defeated Savitar. We could see that play out this season. But even if Barry doesn’t become the Black Flash, there are still many ways the series could go with the arc. Zoom’s Black Flash may be the the one who ends up killing Savitar. Or, both speed gods in their own right, Black Flash and Savitar are working together. It will be interesting to see how Reverse-Flash fits into this. Thawne isn’t one to miss out on an evil speedster plan.
