They say that it’s always better not to fight alone and do it with friends. Looks like Fortnite is giving everyone that chance with its Refer a Friend program. The beta version of this feature started on October 25 and it is set to end on November 14. There are also earnable in-game rewards by finishing tasks.
To join this program, simply follow these steps:
- Sign up on the Refer a Friend website using your Epic account.
- Invite up to five eligible friends through the same website and then play the game.
- Be sure to complete in-game tasks together.
- Earn different rewards including the Rainbow Racer Outfit.
Players who registered and logged in to the website are called “referrers” and the friends they invited are “referees.” To be considered as a referee, a player needs to have less than 120 minutes of core Fortnite battle royale game mode within the past 30 days. That means Solos, Duos, Trios, or Squads.
Both referrers and referees can earn points as revealed on the program website. They can earn by playing the game together, earning eliminations in Battle Royale, and leveling up their account, among others. It’s important to remember that once a player joins the program as a referrer, that same player can’t later participate as a referee (and vice versa).
In addition, the referrers and referees have to be friends in-game to be part of the program. However, only referrers need to be the ones registered on the website. Referees can still register if they want to check their own progression.
Any points earned by playing, as a referrer or referee, accumulate until certain thresholds are met. When this happens, either the referrer or referee gets the designated reward for meeting that threshold. For example, players who want to unlock the Rainbow Racer Outfit need to have their Fortnite account reach 60 career levels. While referrers can team up with as many as five different referees, players can only earn a reward once.
What are you waiting for? Play with friends and get those rewards.
Fortnite is available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Android, and iOS.
