Ghostrunner recently received a new trailer confirming its official release date. The brand-new trailer shows off Ghostrunner's Dharma City and some fast-paced parkour and combat. There's also a bit of conversation that goes on between the game's protagonist and Architect Cybervoid, giving us an idea that players will need to scale the Dharma Tower and take down Mara the Keymaster to liberate the city. The trailer also showed off a fair chunk of combat and traversal mechanics and concluded by confirming that Ghostrunner will be launch on October 27 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

The cyberpunk-style parkour and melee combat game was announced last year and showcased a 16-minute long gameplay video during IGN's Summer of Gaming earlier this year. The announcement was warmly received by fans. Moreover, since recognized developer 3D Realms is part of the project, fans are really excited to see what Ghostrunner has to offer. The game isn't developed by 3D Realms alone, as two other developers (One More Level and Slipgate Ironworks) are also working in collaboration.

Seeing Ghostrunner for the first time, I was reminded of Mirror's Edge. It was the first game that offered a flushed out parkour system in the first-person mode. So, fans who have played Mirror's Edge before might be excited to try out Ghostrunner. Moreover, unlike Mirror's Edge's simple environment, Ghostrunner features a Cyberpunk city from the future. The environment in the game is lit by neon lights, resulting in a dark aesthetic.

Even though players are anticipating the game, Ghostrunner is offering a 20 percent discount to PC and PlayStation Plus players. However, Xbox One players only get a 10 percent discount. Ghostrunner also supports hardware-enabled ray-tracing, but the feature will only be available for PC players and, unfortunately, console players will miss out on it. However, it remains to be seen whether or not Ghostrunner will launch on next-gen consoles that fully support ray-tracing.

Ghostrunner releases on October 27 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
