Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd and Adele have been confirmed among the artists that will perform at the Grammy Awards . The past year has been extremely eventful for the three musicians and their performances at the music event on Feb. 15 will highlight their stunning success in 2015.
The Weeknd’s popular “Cant Feel My Face” has been nominated for record of the year. The entire album Beauty Behind the Madness has also been nominated for Album of the Year and Best Urban Contemporary Album. Kendrick has placed in the same category for To Pimp A Butterfly , which has also been nominated for Best Rap Album. “Alright” has been nominated for both song of the year and best video. K-Dot has 11 nominations total, with the Weeknd trailing behind with 7.
President Obama recently named Kendrick’s How Much a Dollar Cost his favorite song of 2015. He even made a statement this month saying he prefers K-Dot over Drake, and even speculated that Kendrick would win the rap battle if the two went head to head.
“ I'm just saying. I think Drake is an outstanding entertainer, but Kendrick...his lyrics . His last album was outstanding,” the president said during a YouTube Q&A.
Adele already has 10 Grammys under her belt and will likely perform a song from her latest album 25 which didn’t make the cut this year because it was released after Sept. 30. Country group Little Big Town will also perform. More acts will be announced in the coming weeks.
