An in-house developed bullet hell shoot em-up game from publisher Intragames will be coming soon for the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. Titled Grand Brix Shooter, it’s currently scheduled to launch on August 29, 2019.
Grand Brix Shooter follow the legendary aircraft named Brix Core, piloted by Prince Brix. With the world threatened by a looming evil, Brix must combine his expertise and his one of a kind aircraft to defeat the threat once and for all.
The game is a bullet-hell fusion shooter which aims to challenge players to survive numerous waves of attacks from enemies. Inspired by the iconic arcade shooters of yesteryear, Grand Brix Shooter highlights the genre’s notable features which are built around a more modern game engine. It also adds a new feature called the “Fusion System”, where in the original plane combines with other randomly appearing aircrafts. This adds a facet of planning and strategy and a little bit of RNG luck to the game’s already chaotic nature.
Grand Brix Shooter features over 10 playable aircrafts, each with their own unique skills and weaponry. In addition, defeating the enemy allows players to gather crystals that can be used to upgrade ships, which improves both their overall performance and appearance. This improvement increases the players’ chances in surviving their battles against the fiercest of bosses. Surviving means unlocking more secret units that are imbued with massive powers. Lastly, aside from its story campaign mode, it also includes a Challenge Mode and Online Leaderboards which allow players to compete for ultimate airborne combat supremacy.
For an in-house developed title, Grand Brix Shooter looks very well-made and polished. Most of my problems with shoot ‘em ups can be attributed to the poor color attribution to different bullets; it looks like Grand Brix Shooter has somewhat made that tolerable thanks to a clear color scheme to what will end up hitting you and what you need to avoid.
Grand Brix Shooter will fly to the skies soon on August 29, with included support for English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, Korean, Chinese (both Simplified and Traditional), and Japanese text options.
