There has been some radio silence from Rockstar since the Import/Export DLC released on GTA Online back in December. While we did receive new vehicles including the Progen Italia GTB and Dewbauchee Specter this month, fans are anxious to learn what other GTA 5 updates the future holds. On Sunday, GTA 5 tipster Yan2295 shared a blog post to shed some light regarding new DLCs.
No, it's not source codes or leaks about an upcoming DLC. Instead, Yan warns GTA gamers that the party is almost over as the highly anticipated release of Red Dead Redemption 2 gets closer. Essentially, more and more Rockstar developers will be tasked to finish the game, which means less resources will be devoted to cranking new and meaningful updates.
Still, given the success of GTA Online, you would think Rockstar would at least give GTA one last hurrah before walking into the sunset. However, Yan2295 suggests Rockstar already did:
"Basically, according to what I heard, GTA Online updates are going to slow down this year, to then stop around the time RDR2 will release," Yan began. "You would think that Rockstar would want to end GTA Online with something big, but what if we already got that something big? Don't you think that the Import/Export update felt different and would have been a good way to end GTA Online updates? Well that's because if you go back around a year, that's exactly what they wanted to do. I/E was supposed to be the last GTA Online update."
Yan2295 has shared a lot of reliable info in the past, including DLC leaks and leaking RDR2 before Rockstar's announcement. Still, Yan warned, "This could all change, so take that as rumors."
