There are a lot of life simulation video games available, and Square Enix is entering this genre with Harvestella. The game offers players a beautiful world that changes with the seasons. It features a variety of gameplay, including growing and tending crops, making friends with the townspeople, and going into dungeons.
The game is coming out on November 4 on PC through Steam and Nintendo Switch. Pre-order for Switch is not yet available, but PC players can do it now on Steam.
What’s Harvestella all about? The game is set in a colorful and vibrant world that has four giant crystals known as the "Seaslight." These crystals are responsible for the stable change between the four seasons. The story starts when abnormalities in the Seaslight start to appear. These are caused by “Quietus,” a season of death that happens between the naturally occurring four seasons. During Quietus, crops wither and people can’t go outside. The real problem is that Quietus is getting longer with each passing year.
Features of the game include:
- Explore the world through different settlements like:
- Nemea Town where cherry trees bloom all year round.
- The seaside town of Shatolla, home to a bustling tavern.
- The Lethe Village, resplendent in the vibrant colors of the four seasons.
- The Holy Capital of Argene, cloaked in snow.
- Players can use the world map to travel to all the settlements and their respective dungeons. But they need to travel across beautiful and treacherous paths to reach the Seaslights.
- Daily Life
- Grow fruits, vegetables, and crops in the fields to either sell or use as crafting materials.
- Players can use their produce in their cooking.
- Foods give helpful effects that can aid in adventures like HP recovery or temporary stat boosts.
