Has your Paladin Murloc deck been missing that little something extra to really make it great? Has Vilefin Inquisitor stopped making your Hearthstone deck feel all tingly inside? Fear not, fellow lover of amphibious gurglers, there’s a new card in Hearthstone’s next expansion, Mean Streets Of Gadgetzan , that I’m sure will bring back that cold, damp feeling only a Murloc could provide.
Grimescale Chum is a 1-mana 2/1 Murloc with a Battlecry that adds +1/+1 to a random Murloc in your hands. It sounds simple because it is. Murloc Paladin runs a ton of tiny, low cost Murlocs that benefit a ton from buffs to the hand. Bluegill Warrior becomes a 3/2 with Charge, which can trade with most two or three mana minions. Blowgill Sniper , one of the other new cards in the expansion, turns into a more precise Huge Toad. The possibilities are endless and it will be a staple in all Aggro Murloc or Anyfin Murloc Paladin decks for formats to come.
Three Little Pigs With Charge: Tanaris Hogchopper, Spiked Hogrider And Leatherclad Hogleader
That little Murloc wasn’t the only card reveal we got today, Toucharcade showed off a trio of angry hogs on motorcycles that all love to Charge. Let’s start off with Tanaris Hogchopper, a four-mana 4/4 that has a Battlecry that gives this Charge if your opponent’s hand is empty. Definitely the worst of the three, there are very few matchups outside of Face Hunter that end with your opponent having nothing in their hand. It’s stats aren’t terrible, so drafting it in arena isn’t too bad.
Spiked Hogrider is the best of the three angry pigs on two wheels. He’s a 5-mana 5/5 that has a Battlecry that gives him Charge if your opponent has a minion with Taunt. Mean Streets Of Gadgetzan is going to be filled with Taunt minions, intended to slow down the pace of the game. I Know A Guy and Alley Armorsmith are going to be huge cards when the expansion comes out. Spiked Hogrider won’t be able to get through everything, but he can break through Bloodhoof Brave and that’s really all that matters. Expect this card teched in to decks meant to destroy Control Warrior.
Last up is Ms. Piggy, after a really bad breakup with Kermit The Frog, Leatherclad Hogleader. She is arguably worse than Tanaris Hogchopper , but not by much. She’s a 6-mana 6/6 that has a Battlecry that gives her Charge if your opponent has six or more cards in their hand. Nobody uses Goblin Sapper , which gains attack when your opponent has that large of a hand, so why would anyone pay three more mana for a more terrible effect? I wouldn’t even draft this bacon with a mohawk in arena if the other choices were Junkbot and a Validated Doomsayer.
