What's inside? Only good Hearthstone players will find out in the Heroic Tavern Brawl Blizzard

If you're like me, you’ve been trying your luck at Hearthstone ’s newest competitive bracket, the Heroic Tavern Brawl. For 1,000 gold or $9.99, you can compete against other players and see if you are better than everyone else out there. Be warned, that if you lose three games you are can’t try anymore and might have just wasted an obscene amount of gold.

Don’t get bamboozled, here’s exactly what you need to know before playing Hearthstone’s Heroic Tavern Brawl.

  • Don’t Play Until You Are Ready- It may seem appealing to jump headfirst into the Heroic Tavern Brawl with your Resurrect Priest that you’ve climbed to rank 10 on ladder with, but it might not be the smartest idea. In order to get anywhere near the value you spent on admission back, you need at least nine wins. Everyone will be bringing their best decks, doing everything in their power to get a Golden Legendary. If you aren’t good at Hearthstone you will lose. That’s the sad, but true fact.

  • Practice In Standard Before Playing- Before playing any competitive game of Hearthstone, I always make sure to get practice in against every deck that’s currently in the meta. That means I’m fighting Dragon Warrior, Malygos Druid, Secret Hunter and Midrange Shaman. This can take me anywhere from an hour to half a day, but it’s the only way I’ll feel my brain is properly exercised and ready to out think whoever wants to spam “well played” after losing to me.

  • Pick The Right Deck- Currently, there is only one deck at the top of the Hearthstone meta, Midrange Shaman . It’s not the only deck to play, but it’s definitely the best. Other options do include: Secret Hunter, Dragon Warrior , Malygos Druid and C’thun Warrior. Play your best deck, not the one that everyone claims is OP.

  • Copy The Pros- Reddit user EvidentHS , has chronicled every streamer and redditor that’s managed to pull off 12 wins. Playing Midrange Shaman is still the easiest way to win, but it’s not always the flashiest. There’s something rewarding about getting 12 wins with a B-tier deck that has Yogg-Saron.

  • Don’t Be Salty If You Go 0-3- If you only get one pack out of your 1,000 gold investment, you weren’t ready for the Heroic Tavern Brawl. Don’t let that deter you on your dream of Hearthstone glory though, nobody is perfect when they first start out. Maybe next time you should stay away from investing your gold in anything that isn’t a pack or Adventure.
