If you’ve been holding out hope for a retail version of Hitman , the first episodic addition to the iconic stealth franchise, you’re in luck. Square Enix has confirmed plans to release a physical copy of Hitman ’s first season on both PC and consoles, in a special collector’s edition chock full of the usual goodies (Steelbook case, soundtrack, etc) we’ve come to expect from CE bundles.
Hitman: The Complete First Season will pack all six episodes of the game’s first season, including the U.S.- and Japan-based missions coming later this year, onto a single disc that hits stores early next year. Jan. 31, to be specific. In a bit of a departure from the norm, Square Enix is clearly treating the physical release like a Collector’s Edition of the game, bundling a variety of extras, like a behind-the-scenes documentary, with the first season of Hitman . The physical version will also include three bonus missions. PS4 and Xbox One copies will be $49.99 while the PC version comes in slightly cheaper at $39.99.
Those who purchase the PS4 version of Hitman: The Complete First Season will also have an opportunity to complete the Sarajevo Six contracts developed exclusively for the PlayStation community. It’s not clear whether or not the various Elusive Targets we’ve seen over the last few months will also return to Hitman when the game hits stores in January; however, we wouldn’t be shocked if Square Enix had some kind of plan to revisit that content down the road.
