The last two trailers in For Honor’s Hero Series are out now, spotlighting members of the Viking and Knight factions, rounding out a 12-part collection intended to familiarize fans with the full For Honor roster before the game hits PC and consoles on Valentine’s Day.
On Tuesday, Ubisoft published its tenth For Honor hero video, spotlighting the naginata-carrying Nobushi from the Samurai faction. Now, the publisher has closed out the series with early looks at the Lawbringers and Valkyrie classes before the For Honor closed beta begins next Thursday. And it must be Spear Week at Ubisoft HQ because we’re looking at two more classes that rely on long, pointy melee weapons to stop their opponent.
First up were the Valkyries, female warriors who fought for one of the most war-minded societies in human history, the Vikings. According to Norse legend, Valkyries fought on behalf of those who weren’t “fortunate” enough to die in battle. Over time, they’d bring enough honor to the fallen to earn admittance to Valhalla. Things won’t be quite that heavy in For Honor. Valkyries will carry a small shield and spear into battle and serve as the Vikings’ scout class. The trailer also shows a Valkyrie wielding a warhorn, suggesting they may be capable of buffing friendly units.
We also met the Lawbringers this week, the poleaxe carrying, heavily-armored enforcers who fight on behalf of the Knights. According to the corresponding trailer, Lawbringers’ armor is stronger than any other hero we’ll see in For Honor and their choice of weapon gives them a bit more attack range than you might expect from a tank. They do seem to move a bit slower than other heroes, so they’re probably susceptible to kiting and/or group attacks. You’ll just have to get through all of that armor first.
For a closer look at the heroes of For Honor, take a few minutes to watch the Lawbringer and Valkyrie trailers published this week. Then head down to the comments section and let us know if you’re planning to pick up For Honor when the game hits PC and consoles next month.
For Honor is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game debuts Feb. 14.
