A pair of new Horizon Zero Dawn trailers debuted on Thursday, part of a new series spotlighting the game’s robotic bestiary, and our latest looks at Guerrilla’s first open-world game put two of Horizon Zero Dawn’s most frequently encountered animals in the spotlight.
Say hello to to the Snapmaws and the Thunderjaws.
Neither of this week’s Horizon Zero Dawn trailers, which run less than three minutes combined, will eat up much of your time. Each clip spends a few minutes introducing a specific species with a highlight package that includes some performance stats, melee/ranged attack information and even the weaknesses Aloy can exploit in combat. As if all that weren’t enough, Guerrilla even includes a basic attack strategy for each species, saving fans a bit of trial and error when Horizon Zero Dawn is finally available to the public.
We can also thank YouTube’s video-linking format for a bit of extra information. The end of Guerrilla’s Thunderjaw breakdown confirms we’ll see similar trailers for the Stormbird and Behemoth in the near future. There’s no word on how many trailers will be part of Guerrilla’s new series, The Machines, but the studio doesn’t have any shortage of subject matter to pull from during the final countdown to the Horizon Zero Dawn release date.
