The HTC 10 is expected to be unveiled in a little over two weeks and recent rumors from Chinese tech blog MyDrivers suggest the smartphone may come in three models, with different processor, RAM and internal storage configurations.
If accurate, HTC would be taking a page from international manufacturers like Huawei and Xiaomi, which offer devices under the same name but with different price points for those that are more budget conscious as well as for those that want more premium products.
Suggested configurations for the three HTC include a low end model, a standard model and a premium model. The low-end model may include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 chip, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage and would cost about $584. The standard model could include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage and would cost about $768. The premium model may include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage and would cost about $905.
Other rumored specs for the HTC 10 include a 5.15-inch display, a 12-megapixel rear camera, a 3,000mah battery and USB Type C.
HTC will host a launch event for its upcoming smartphone April 12, and recent reports also suggest the smartphone may go on sale April 15. However, this release date may be specifically for HTC’s home market of Taiwan.
Officially, HTC has been very quiet about its upcoming smartphone, only teasing that device may include major camera upgrades and the manufacturer’s Boomsound speakers.
