Amid the turmoil surrounding TNA Wrestling, the regularly scheduled Impact Wrestling show aired on Thursday. While a power struggle seems to be on going on backstage in regards to the ownership situation, the talent continued to put in good work in TNA's final show leading up to Sunday’s Bound for Glory show….if it even happens.

Rex and Galloway Have A Final Showdown Before BFG

Aron Rex and Drew Galloway had an in-ring face-off ahead of their finals match in the Grand Championship Tournament at Bound For Glory. TNA’s use of Rex early in his run was questionable as he was a special referee a la Bret Hart when he jumped to WCW in 1997. Over the last three to four weeks, however, Rex has started to ascend the ladder of the company and having Galloway as his foil was a good move – Galloway as a heel is better than Gallway as a face.

While the Grand Championship and its format is still bothering me, Rex and Galloway possibly fighting for the title is the right move. To put the belt on an established wrestler like Rex or Galloway can build the title into something legitimate. I say “possibly” because Galloway is dealing with an injury that may have him inactive for Sunday’s show...if it happens.

UPDATE: Galloway was pulled from the match and was replaced by Eddie Edwards by virtue of Edwards reaching the semi-finals.

DJ Z Retains X Division Title

This was a good match between DJ Z and Eddie Edwards where DJ Z retained his title. This match deserved a lot more time on the show as they seemed to have a flow with each other that could have gone another ten minutes. After the match, Trevor Lee and Andrew Everett came out to beat down Edwards and Z, which may lead to a match at Bound for Glory. Z is a good champion but he needs a monster X Division heel to give him trouble.

Team Lashley Wins Six Sides of Steel, Title Match Is Now No Holds Barred

I was hoping for a Team EC3 victory in Six Sides of Steel because I knew that would mean an interesting stipulation for their match at Bound for Glory. Instead, Lashley won and we will have Lashley vs. EC3 in a No Holds Barred match at BFG on Sunday.

Smart money is on Lashley retaining, but with the way they are building EC3 and with the losses and troubles he is having with Lashley, old school thinking would have EC3 win the strap. I have no idea who will win this match, which I like because there’s some mystery to how they will book this match. You will see who I think will win on Sunday in my Bound For Glory predictions article.

After The Bell

  • I didn’t mention this last week, but Cody Rhodes, or just Cody, is coming to TNA at Bound for Glory. Rhodes signed a great deal which doesn’t give him exclusivity to the company and allows him to work anywhere. Still a shame that he cannot use the Rhodes name but that's just normal WWE petty behavior.
  • Decay vs. Broken Hardys will be the match of the night come Bound for Glory. The feud has been amazing with Final Deletion 2 and the subsequent battles after, including the Rosemary vs. Reby match from this week’s Impact. I am just waiting to see what these two teams pull out on Sunday.
  • Can Allie just turn on Maria already? I’ve been waiting for weeks for this to happen and they are just dragging this out.
  • I may be wrong but I think more Eli Drake isn’t a bad deal. Dummy, yeah.
