Indigo Prophecy, the PS2 game from developer Quantic Dream that established the studio, is finally seeing a PS4 remaster release date. The Quantic Dream remaster has been a work in progress, but it looks like fans can finally get back in starting Aug. 9.
According to a post by Guillaume de Fondaumiere on the PlayStation Blog, Indigo Prophecy almost didn’t make it to release back in 2005. “This skepticism [about Indigo Prophecy] was so radical that we had to switch publishing partners during the last third of the game’s production,” he wrote. “While we were showing off the beta version, a certain group of high-profile professionals even claimed that we would never be able to finish the game!”
Not only did Quantic Dream prove the haters wrong, but the studio would also go on to have several more major game releases, and even feature performances from Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe. The company is now hard at work on its latest game, Detroit: Become Human.
The remastered Indigo Prophecy was made with help from the International Software Development Group at SIEA, and will include Trophy support for the first time.
So what do you think? Will you be playing through Indigo Prophecy for the first time once the remaster is here? Will you hold off to play Quantic Dream’s next game? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
