A smartphone repair shop in China has posted images of what they claim to be genuine components for the upcoming iPhone 7, according to Engadget. Based in Ganzhou, Rock Fix, the repair shop, posted the pictures of the component on Weibo, the Chinese micro-blogging network with similarities to Twitter.
If the pictures are real, it would mean that Apple has decided to keep the headphone jack for the iPhone 7 design, while also adding in support for dual sim card, an internal hard drive up to 256GB and a dual camera setup.
The dual sim cards would be a big selling point for the iPhone 7 in emerging markets like India, or China, while the the increase in hard drive space and dual camera modules would help solidify the iPhone’s luxury status for its higher end models.
The exclusion and now inclusion of the headphone jack on the iPhone 7 has been a contentious point for the Apple rumor mill, with rumors going back and forth on whether Apple will include it. If or when Apple does decide to get rid of the headphone jack, it’s expected that they’ll replace it with either Lightning Cable or Wireless Bluetooth headphones.
