Beyonce, despite releasing her ultra-confessional visual album, Lemonade, insists that her and Jay-Z’s marriage is stronger than ever. Now Jay-Z is allegedly writing an album of his own to respond to Queen Bey’s cheating accusations. I don’t know about you, but having a marriage-fixing conversation over an international platform doesn’t sound like the healthiest way to patch up a relationship, but hey. So it goes.
US Weekly reports that “Jay is working on an album telling his side of things.” It will be a direct response to Lemonade, which inspired an Internet coalition against Jay and his mistress, “Becky with the good hair.” If Beyonce’s claims are true (“This is your final warning / You know I give you life / If you try this s‑‑t again / You gon’ lose your wife”), I have no idea how or why Jay would attempt to refute the allegations. But as the saying goes, there’s two sides to every story.
Of course, Jay-Z’s new album and perhaps even Lemonade could all be part of an elaborate plan to make the power couple a TON of money. Some have pointed out how both are exceptional business people who would be willing to exploit the album’s themes to make millions of dollars off of Beyonce’s loyal “Beyhive.”
We may never know the truth, but oh well – another Jay-Z album, win! There is no official release date as of now but we’ll be sure to keep you posted. Lemonade, meanwhile, is available for streaming on Tidal.
