Want to help John Oliver make Donald Drumpf again? We’ve got the instructions you need to set up the Chrome extension and get it working on your Windows or Mac computer.
On Sunday evening, Last Week Tonight host John Oliver launched a campaign to "Make Donald Drumpf Again," providing just the comedy relief the Republican Party probably needs this Super Tuesday. The comedian has set up the official website at website at http://www.donaldjdrumpf.com. Here people can buy the iconic red Trump hat that instead supports making Donald Drumpf again. In addition, Oliver’s team has created a Chrome extension that changes every instance of Trump’s name on the internet to Drumpf. If you want to get the Drumpfinator working on your computer, just follow the instructions below.
How To Get And Install "Make Donald Drumpf Again" Chrome Extension On Windows Or Mac Computer
1. Open up a Chrome Browser
2. Visit the Chrome Extension Site and find the Drumpfinator.
3. Click the blue “Add to Chrome” button in the upper left-hand corner of the extension page.
4. Once the extension has downloaded, Close the Chrome Browser out entirely. (Make sure all tabs are closed and the browser is closed or it won’t work)
5. Reopen the Chrome browser.
6. Search for some Donald Trump news
7. You should see Donald Trump now as Donald Drumpf!
The Donald Drumpf ‘Drumpfinator’ Extension Still Isn’t Working. What Am I Doing Wrong?
The extension requires that you completely close out the Chrome browser and restart it for it to work. I actually had to do it twice before it worked for me. Also, I noticed it does slow your search down slightly and is occasionally prone to not working. I have had to reload a page here and there to see Drumpf everywhere .
What Does Drumpf Mean? Why John Oliver Is Calling Donald Trump ‘Donald Drumpf’
With Trump winning three state primaries and polls predicting he’ll lead in most states on Super Tuesday, Oliver decided it was time his show addressed the “back mole” Trump has become, stating that while the business tycoon-gone-presidential hopeful may have seemed harmless a year ago, his influence has “gotten frighteningly bigger,” and “is no longer wise to ignore.”
According to Oliver, one of the main difficulties in taking Trump down lies in his name.
“It almost onomatopoeic,” said Oliver. “Trump. It’s the sound produced when a mouthy servant is slapped across the face with a wad of thousand dollar bills … it’s the sound of a cork popping on a couple’s Champaigniversary … the very name Trump is the cornerstone of his brand.”
Oliver then went on to allege that if the name and the man could be separated, then perhaps he wouldn’t be so influential.
Of course, with that premise Oliver came to the climax of his show, where he revealed that Trumps ancestors weren’t always blessed with the charismatic name. Looking into the business tycoon’s lineage, a historian discovered that Trump’s ancestors changed their name from Drumpf to Trump, and that, says Oliver, has made all the difference.
“Drumpf is much less magical. It’s the sound produced when a morbidly obese pigeon flies into the window of a foreclosed Old Navy. It’s the sound of a bottle of root beer falling off the shelf in a gas station mini mart,” the comedian mused.
“If you are thinking of voting for Donald Trump, the charismatic guy promising to make America great again, stop and take a moment to imagine how you would feel if you just met a guy named Donald Drumpf -- a litigious serial liar with a string of broken businesses ventures and the support of a former clan leader who he can’t decide whether or not to condemn. Would you think he would make a good candidate or is the spell somehow broken?”
Oliver then urged Republicans and anyone else fearful that the Donald might actually be their next president, to help him “Make Donald Drumpf Again.”
