Kingdom Hearts 2.8: A Fragmentary Passage has a secret Boss Rush area that can be unlocked by collecting 12 relics themed around Zodiac symbols. This guide will reveal where every chest is located.
UNLOCKING THE ZODIAC RELICS
First off, the only way you can start finding the zodiac relics is to beat A Fragmentary Passage once on any difficulty. After loading your completed save, chests containing the relics listed below will appear.
ZODIAC RELICS IN CASTLE TOWN
Follow all directions from the save point.
Aries Relic: Go straight through the town square and jump up the pillar on your right. To your right is a building wall with four stacked boxes. You’ll find the chest near the boxes.
Aquarius Relic : Approach the market stand in the town square and turn left down the alley. Dash straight through the debris, walk on top of the street lamp and drop down. You’ll see a building wall with a boarded window. The chest should be there.
Virgo Relic : Head straight through the square like you did for the Aires Relic, but go to the pillar on your left this time. Go through the overpass and find the chest by the building to your immediate left.
Sagittarius Relic : Pass through the town square on the right side and jump up the pillar that has an overpass on top of it. Head straight through and climb up the stairs on your left. Jump on a few platforms over the debris and continue climbing to the right. Some of the more distant platforms along the path will require dashes to reach. Once you hit the end, you’ll have reached the highest point in Castle Town. Grab the chest in front of you.
ZODIAC RELICS IN THE WORLD WITHIN
Cancer Relic : In the main area, head straight past the lit Sagittarius marking (man with arrow) and turn left. The chest is on your left.
Pieces Relic : Warp into the mirror between the scorpion and scale markings to get to the endless hall. As soon as you spawn the chest is behind you.
Leo Relic : Warp into the second mirror on your immediate left to reach the platform puzzle that takes place in the mine. You’ll see diamonds on the ground. Head straight and interact with the mirror to spawn a platform. Jump on the new platform and the second one to the left. The chest will be on your right.
Libra Relic : On the same platform as the Leo Relic there’s a column. Jump on top of it. To your right you’ll see a platform in the far distance. Use attacks and dashes to get to it. Right in front of that platform is a long, winding path you can jump to. Walk down it and hop on the two platforms with shimmering diamonds. Follow them until you can jump to the big battle area. The chest is on the right.
Gemini Relic : This one is hard to explain. Jump into the mirror that brings you to the room full of columns. Activate the first and second glowing pillars. In a dark corner near the third pillar, you’ll see your item indicator pop up. That chest has the relic.
ZODIAC RELICS IN THE FOREST OF THORNS
Taurus Relic : From the save point, pass through the first big clusters of thorns and jump below the rail you can grind on. Straight ahead is the chest.
Scorpio Relic: This time grind on the rail and keep pushing forward. Once the area opens up, you’ll see pillars connected to a rail. Head past the rail on the pillar it’s attached to. Work through a bunch of thorns till you reach a small clearing with the chest on your right.
ZODIAC RELIC IN THE DEPTHS OF DARKNESS
Capricorn Relic : Sprint through the whole stage till you come to the big white light. To your right in that empty area is a pillar with the chest on top.
ACCESSING THE SECRET BOSS RUSH
With all relics connected, warp to the World Within and you’ll see a new mirror in the main area. Interact with it to confront 12 super-powerful bosses. It’s very hard, so we suggest playing it on beginner difficulty. It’s a great way to farm EXP to level up Aqua quickly. What you gain is maintained even if you die.
