League of Legends player Forgiven has been benched by Origen for a “lack of motivation” and will be replaced by Xpeke in the ADC role. Origen released a statement on its website; “We expect FORG1VEN to find the necessary motivation to regain his passion for the game as soon as possible.” Xpeke is not an ADC player, he’s a mid laner famous for his quick reflexes and that one time he backdoored a nexus .

The internet was buzzing with rumors about it Tuesday morning. A reddit thread on the front page pointed out Xpeke has been practicing a lot of ADC and that he was listed as starting for Origen on the lolesports site. This has to be one of the fastest benchings in competitive eSports history. Players get benched before splits all the time, but never after the first week.

Forgiven left his old team H2K this split and may be regretting it. He deferred his army service for a year, after nearly ending his LCS career to enlist in the Greek forces. There has to be a whole bunch of internal turmoil the public knows nothing about.

Thooorin let Forgiven have it on Twitter:

Origen went 0-2 in the first week of the European LCS, and it’s probably weighing heavily on Forgiven’s ego. What do you think is going to happen next? Tell us in the comments!

UPDATE: Forgiven just released a statement on Facebook saying that he is done with League of Legends "indefinitely." In his post, he says that Origen were losing 90 percent of their scrims which made him realize he wasn't enjoying the game:

"I obviously recognise that this will leave a negative vibe for the future, in general all those years i gave it everything i had and all i got back was some individual achievements in the past (just saying that having best 'KDA' doesnt mean shit for me) and disappointing playoff runs/IEM results along with multiple organisations not being able to treat their teams decently (excluding H2K, cant judge OG since i was for short time there)."
