This week’s League of Legends Featured Gamemode is Hexakill: Twisted Treeline. 12 players face off on League’s spookier map. Twisted Treeline is a two-lane map with jungles and altars in the middle. Here are a few tips for playing HK TT.
Get Them Altars- Three are altars that can be captured on the TT map. Each one gives mana regeneration and damage, and if you get both of them, your minions get 15 percent health and damage. That’s nothing to scoff at; during an important push those extra stats can you win you the game.
Kill The Spider- Vilemaw is TT’s version of Baron Nashor, a big old boss that gives a buff when killed. Killing him isn’t easy though, he deals some major damage and has a few unique attacks of his own. His spider webbing pulls anyone who’s in front of him closer, clumping you all up for an easy enemy engage. Like our giant purple friend, the spider buff makes minions super powered. They turn the color of Spooky Gangplank and gain increased stats and fear away other minions. Games with Vilemaw taken tend to last a lot shorter than games that don’t.
It’s Just a Normal Game- unlike URF or Ascension, HK TT has the same objectives as a normal game of League . Sure, the map is different and there are slightly more players, but everything else remains the same. If you are looking for something different, but not too much, try a few games while it’s here this weekend.
Best Champions For Hexakill: Twisted Treeline
Fizz: The fish flopper is just as amazing here as he is on Summoner’s Rift. Hitting Chum The Waters is even easier on this map, since the whole area is full of tiny corridors players can’t really get out of.
Zed: Assassins are king right now, and Zed is one of the best. Burst enemies with your AOE attacks and then get away before the rest of their team can retaliate. If you want to farm S ranks, this is the guy to do it.
Zyra: The plant lady is a personal favorite of mine, her rework has made her a terrifying mage. Her plants can put out DPS quickly on the Twisted Treeline map, and her ultimate works well on clumped up enemies. Just don’t get caught if you plan on playing her, she is incredibly squishy and will die if anybody with damage gets near her.
