Justice Society of America members on Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 are in for quite a ride. Obsidian, Doctor Mid-Nite, Commander Steel, Star Girl, Vixen and Rex Tyler will appear as a group during the second episode when the Legends interject themselves in JSA’s mission.
In addition to the Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 episode 2, ‘The Justice Society of America,’ synopsis, The CW also released the first photos of JSA all together. We’ve already seen Dr. Nate Heywood in previous photos. He’s expected to play Citizen Steel but has only been pictured in plain clothes thus far. The synopsis for the premiere episode describes Heywood as "an uncoventional and charming historian," so maybe h'es not ready for a suit just yet. However, he will be tasked with the job of helping Green Arrow find the Legends scattered throughout time at the start of the season. His grandfather, Commander Steel, is the one wearing the costume below.
The new batch of photos also gives the first glimpse at Doctor Mid-Nite and Obsidian, as well as a second look at Stargirl, Vixen --the two ladies have already been teased in photos and trailers. Hourman, the first JSA member to meet The Legends, was introduced in the Season 1 finale.
TEAM WORK — The Legends travel to Nazi-occupied Paris, but find themselves surrounded by the Justice Society of America (AKA JSA.) The Legends discover a time aberration that threatens the JSA, but the JSA wants nothing to do with them or their help. Nevertheless, the Legends force their way into the JSA’s mission to intercept and seize a mysterious package. Nate (Nick Zano) is desperate to prove that he should be part of the team, but he has a secret that he shares with his grandfather Commander Steel (Matthew MacCaull) that might make it difficult. Ray (Brandon Routh) is so focused on impressing the JSA, he puts himself and Vixen (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) in danger. Meanwhile, Stein (Victor Garber) has stepped in as the leader with Rip (Arthur Darvill) gone, but when decisions aren’t being made Sara (Caity Lotz) seems to be the one calling the shots. Dominic Purcell and Franz Drameh also star.
The episode synopsis suggests the Legends won’t particularly get along with JSA at first, maybe rightfully so. Justice Society of America clearly has much more practice when it comes to the whole saving the world thing. Their calculated veterans with calculated strategy. The same can’t be said for Rip Hunter and the Legends, who usually just wing-it every mission.
Most interesting is that both Citizen Steel and Commander Steel will be in the episode, and how about that secret Citizen Steel will share with his grandfather? Any idea what it could be? Let us know in the comments below!
