The fourth entry in 2K’s ongoing series of Mafia 3 gameplay trailers is out now, one week after the publisher highlighted protagonist Lincoln Clay’s “ talent for violence .” Our latest preview of the open-world game continues to meditate on the many faces of combat in Mafia 3 . Turns out EA Sports UFC 2 and WWE 2K17 aren’t the only games letting players climb into the cage this year.
Last week, 2K and Hangar 13 published a trailer spotlighting the many weapons available in Mafia 3, from firearms to explosives, showing Lincoln Clay’s willingness to rely on deadly force. Combat remains the focal point this week, ahead of the game’s debut next Friday, but we’re getting a more complete picture of the ways Clay will utilize violence during the Mafia 3 campaign. The game includes everything from cage-fighting to sniping, along with high-speed shootouts from behind the wheel of period-appropriate vehicles, and figuring out which of Lincoln’s skillsets to call upon in each situation seems key to success in Mafia 3. There are even hints of an interrogation scene we can only hope shows more restraint than Rockstar did with Grand Theft Auto V.
