New details on Mafia 3 are out this week, courtesy of the latest entry in a series of gameplay trailers from 2K and Hangar 13, giving us a better idea of the services available to Lincoln Clay as he takes on the Mob in New Bordeaux. Unsurprisingly, many of the services available to the Mafia 3 protagonist should be familiar to those who’ve played many open-world crime games.
In recent weeks, the two companies have used a variety of trailers to highlight the activities, people and places we’ll encounter in New Bordeaux, along with the many tools at Lincoln Clay’s disposal as he brings the fight to one of the world’s most infamous criminal organizations. The last pair of trailers from 2K and Hangar 13 focused on Clay’s “talent for violence” and the cornucopia of firearms (and other weaponry) that makes such violence possible. Now, we’re getting a better idea of the support systems that will help Clay defeat his enemies in Mafia 3.
Those support systems include services we’ve come to expect from open-world fare like Mafia, including the ability to have cars (from the player’s personal collection) delivered to Lincoln and the ability to call friendly hit squads to your current location when things get rough. The Mafia 3 protagonist will also be able to disable neighborhood switchboards, leaving his victims unable to call for reinforcements, and there’s even a doctor that will patch Lincoln up without reporting his injuries or whereabouts to local law enforcement.

Mafia 3 is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game debuts Oct. 7.
