EA Access and Origin Access subscribers will get an early look at Mass Effect: Andromeda, Electronic Arts has confirmed, giving fans of the service the usual 10 hours of pre-launch play time before Mass Effect: Andromeda heads to retailers and digital storefronts.
For those unfamiliar, EA Access is a Netflix-style service that allows fans of Electronic Arts’ many disparate releases to spend a relatively small amount of cash (five dollars per month) to get unlimited access to a number of console games from the EA catalog. A similar service, Origin Access, is also available to PC customers. Subscribers also frequently receive early access to upcoming EA titles, letting them get a jumpstart on some of the most anticipated new video games of any given calendar year. Some worried the program might be changing, after Titanfall 2 didn’t get an EA Access trial last year. But confirmation of the upcoming Mass Effect: Andromeda trial should put those fears to bed.
Mass Effect: Andromeda will be available to the EA Access community on March 16, five days before the game hits PS4, Xbox One and PC, and subscribers will be allowed to clock the usual 10 hours of play time before the trial ends. All progress made prior to the Mass Effect: Andromeda release date will carry over to your new save on launch day and there don’t appear to be any other boundaries on what players can see/do during the trial window.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game debuts March 21, 2017.
