The much-awaited expansion for Final Fantasy XIV Online is finally here. It's time for a new adventure to the distant continent of Tural as Dawntrail arrives. This is the fifth expansion of the game and available for the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series X/S.
Dawntrail serves as the beginning of a new chapter with the Warrior of Light once again on the road to adventure. This time, it's to the distant continent of Tural where there are new areas to explore like the mountainous region of Urqopacha, the deep forests of Kozama'uka, and even the rain starved plains of Shaaloani, to name a few.
New Playable Jobs
One of the highlights of this new expansion are the two new playable jobs. The first one is the Viper who close-range fighting style. This fighting style has been handed down Turali hunters for generations. It makes use of quick and decisive strikes through two one-handed blades along with powerful flourishes from a combined two-handed weapon. Once the Viper is able to weaken a foe, they empower themselves with the strength of their ancestors to deliver a powerful and decisive finishing blow.
The second is the Pictomancer. With brush in hand, they're able to weave the aether of their imagination and bring it into the fabric of reality. This allows them to manifest their myriad motifs into living muses. However, since every work of art takes time to perfect, it means their palettes are ever prepared with a colorful arsenal of instant-cast abilities and spells.

Other Updates
The expansion also brings with it the first major graphical overhaul of the game by adding a wide range of visual improvements like the enhanced texture and shadow resolution. There are also the improved material qualities for characters and environments.
