Overwatch "Dragons" shows an insane battle between Hanzo and Genji
Overwatch "Dragons" shows an insane battle between Hanzo and Genji PS4 Australia

The PlayStation Australia YouTube page just dropped a brand new Overwatch trailer, featuring Hanzo and Genji. Overwatch’s trailers have been consistently good; “Alive” featured insane combat and aerobatics and “Recall” had an amazing story that matched the tone of the games. The newest one, “Dragons,” combines the two into a gorgeous tale that weaves Japanese folklore with unexpected twists.

Hanzo goes to Hanamura castle, the exact same one as on the Overwatch map. There’s even the murloc sign and giant bell (which is used for great comedic effect.) On the actual in-game map you can see some arrows and stars lodged in the walls from the fight. There he runs into Genji and they have a spectacular fight. Each one of Genji’s stars and Hanzo’s arrows have weight, and feel like real projectiles whizzing through the air.

In the end (SPOILERS) we find out that Genji is the brother Hanzo struck down “to maintain order.” They both used their ultimates, which shoot out dragons, and it turns out only a Shimada can shoot dragons. They both go their separate ways, but Genji says that it’s time for Hanzo to forgive himself and that it will soon “be time to pick a side.”

I don’t know what Blizzard is doing to make these cinematics, but it's working. I have never felt this invested in a video game that doesn’t actually have any story in it. The world is being built through comics and videos, showing how the Omnic war affected the world and its inhabitants.

Overwatch needs to come back because I’m going through Bastion withdrawal. Hopefully, I only have to wait until May 24, when the game finally goes live.

Overwatch doesn't care if you've ever tried an FPS before, it holds your hands and makes you feel okay while you shoot rocket launchers, icicles and sound waves.
